I replaced my on board charger in my Nitro when I got back from Canada in July. The dock the boat was tied to took a lightning hit overnight, and fried my old charger. I was able to limp through the rest of the last week, but decided to get a charger that would charge both trolling motor batteries from the main motor, after the main battery was charged.

I got the Three Bank Pro SE Xtreme (XTSE Charger), it uses "charge on the run" circuitry, with 15 amp output. Although it was a little more expensive than a conventional charger, so far it has worked great and I can really tell a difference after a long day on the water. Having everything in one unit made installation very easy, and I've implemented a mod that allows me to charge all batteries using "charge on the run" while pulling the boat with my truck. I may even put one in my Ranger.
