Re: Custom Paints
Thanks for the invite, but my road trip days are all in the past. They have now reopened the ramps, but not for tournaments.JBcrankaddict wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 8:52 amThat definitely makes it tough. Can’t believe they close the launches down. We’ve been lucky to stay open during this craziness. Come on down to FL anytime Mark!mark poulson wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 3:02 pmYeah, but I've slowed way down. The water is high 40's, and most of the local launch ramps are closed because of Covid, so that's kind of taken the wind out of my sails.JBcrankaddict wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:25 amThanks Mark! Are you still building lures?

they look great! Are you making stencils yourself or use some for the shells?

Re: Custom Paints
Thanks, those were a lot of fun to paint. Got to play around with some colors and a lot of detail. I’m cutting all my stencils out by hand. Just got a new Dremel and some engraving bits, anxious to play around with some plastic sheets.

Couple variations of blueback herring. Most are Ghost and one opaque, some scaled some meshed.

Thanks for the inspiration! First time ever using stencils, not enough contrast, a little too dark, but super fun.

Re: Custom Paints
You are welcome, but I can’t see the pic and would like to! Love seeing others people’s work like Bantam and Cal showed. Gotta draw inspiration from somewhere!

Post Spawn Bluegill baits. Flat CB SR, Shower Blows and Vixen. Can’t wait to throw the Vixen over some hydrilla this weekend.

Whoops let’s try again. Need to add eyes and clear. In the future need to find some of that glitter ribbon. Loofa did not produce the desired effect.

Looking good man! That effect looks sweet on those sides, almost 3d. Should really pop when clear coat is applied. Nice work
I got my ribbon/mesh off of EBay. Keep in mind the diameter of the lures and how wide the ribbon is to be sure it will work. I searched for several things to find what I needed. Glitter Ribbon, metal mesh, glitter mesh...just have to look around, lots of options available.
