NED Heads

Post by smalljaw » Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:56 pm

My new mold is pouring well and these heads are the best of both worlds. The heads in the picture are 1/16oz, 3/32oz, and 1/8oz and they all have a size #1 Owner 5313 hook. What is nice about that hook is that if you are like me and use a medium light spinning rod with 6lb line for this technique, the hook is light and sharp enough that there is no problem getting full penetration on a hook set. The other great thing is that unlike Aberdeen style light wire hooks that are designed to bend out under pressure, these are 1X strong forged hooks so if you are the angler that wants to fish this on 10lb or 15lb braid with an 8 or 10lb fluorocarbon leader on a medium or medium heavy power casting or spinning rod, well you won't bend the hook so easily. I'll be putting these to the test early next week to see how they do but if they perform as well as they look I'll be more than happy.

Thanks guys, this looks to be a decent head so far and I may sell some but I have to try them myself sometime this week and I have to find out how to get cost down as Owner won't give me a break on price until I buy enough that I'll never run out...LOL!

Wonder if you could get some wire in for a weedless version also?

with a small mold mod, that would be no issue.
