Bladed Swim Jig
A new year is coming and I'm starting it with a new bladed swim jig. I've been making these a lot of different ways with different head style as I'm trying to get it just right. Bladed swim jigs are more than a spinnerbait substitute, they have a different look and sound and I've found that they catch fish when the spinnerbait is ineffective. These are my test models, both are 3/8oz, the top one is "green gill" and the bottom one is shell cracker, the blade is homemade, cut from .018" stainless with WTP holographic tape over top for flash. I made these with a heavy hook, the Mustad 32796 flat eye flipping hook as these are going to be tried in cover, I made 2 sets, these have weed guards the other set was without weed guards so I'll get to see which works better or maybe not at all.
