Shallow 6XD

Post by treadwellpat » Sat Jun 08, 2013 9:15 pm

I've been catching solid 5+pounders on SK 6XDs retrieving them as slow as possible in the 4 ft deep range. Fish seem to like the size. Any way to change or modify the bill to make it a shallow runner?

You could throw the series 6, which is the same body style and size, on heavier mono and fish it with your rod held high to get it to run higher.

Shave the lip down with a Dremel or sand paper. Might even be able to melt the lip into a different angle.

Or try this bait out.

One of these would probably be an answer to what you're trying to achieve. http://www.salmo.com.pl/en/fatso-crank/

Bring them over here Pat. We will see how it works on the shallow fall Bronzebacks.
