I Know They're Not Pretty, but.....

Post by skinhead » Tue Jan 31, 2012 4:27 am

..........They certainly catch fish. Feelng bored a while ago I decided to dismember a couple of heavy Barbour coat hangers. I think that the wood is beech, but I'm not certain. A Dremel, a jig saw, a couple of files and some sand paper were my tools. Finish was courtesy of a couple of spray cans. They run at around 12" - 24" and the action is a nice side to side weave. Weighting is thanks to self adhesive window lead. They're 4" long and come in at about 40g. Hooks are 1/0 on the belly and #1 on the tail. So far 30+ pike have fallen to their charms.

I like them. Very nicely done. Retro looking for sure, something I'd expect to see in my Dad's old "Kennedy" Tackle Box.
