Clear coat mix

Anyone ever mix etex and west marine penetrating epoxy? I use etex to clear coat my lures I love the look but I the hooks and fish teeth mess it up pretty easy. I heard west marine drys hard as a rock but is very expensive. I want to mix the 2 but dnt want to waste the west marine tryin to figure out the right combo. Does anyone know what ratio or even if the 2 will work together?
