When production rods are not enough, it's time to go custom. Come share your experiences building and/or ordering a custom rod and tell us if you'll ever go back to off the shelf.

Nice! I honestly wasn't expecting an answer so quickly. Well, not at all actually lol. So is nfc going to release more x-ray models? 733 has 340 grams of power, 736 has 550 ish. Seems like they need something in between.
Yes. There's big gap between those two.
Older blanks what i've tested:
MB 705 HM is between them, 408g.
MB 666 HM is 437.
MB 806 HM is 445.
MB 795 Delta is 525.
Other's i've tested are above.
EDIT! NFC mb 733-1 X-ray WL was 182cm, not 281.

Any updates on the X Ray blanks?
I got my SJ 736 tied up. Just need tof epoxy and done. I will finish my MB 7109 after that. I will take the 736 out for some late season walleye, just for kicks.

Do you think that 7109 can handle 1 to 1.5 oz punching weights ? I got one on order too.

I'll let you know tomorrow. I tested it with 3/4oz and it was fine. I think 1oz for sure, I'd have to try 1.5oz. It may be too much but, I'll check.

mardukfin: are you measuring any tip angles with your RDA? I assume your RDA powers are defined as the amount of weight to deflect the blank 1/3 the working length of the blank?
thanks!

Nope. I havent figured good way to measure it and honestly im not very intrested about action.
Power is more important for my applications.

Hey Marduk, has your customer given you any feedback on the MHX yet?

Yes! He liked it, but told old Gen2 HM was better. He accidentally broke it. X is more powerful and casts better, but he said sensitivity isn't as good as HM were. Also he wanted quite short handle and rod were bit tip heavy then. I dont like to add extra weight inside blank.

Hey guys, any more feedback on the X-ray Mb736?(I'm thinking the SJ736 will be a bit fast for what I want) I'm interested in it for a 3/4oz jig rod(+ plastic) and horny toads in fairly heavy cover. Ideally I've like to see a 1.25oz-1.5oz high end rating. It'll probably see some hollow-body frog work too. Should I be looking at a IM/HM instead?

I havent fished my SJ 736 X-Ray yet but, part of me thinks it wont handle 3/4oz jig plus trailer.

It won't. It's even a little light for half ounce jigs and trailer. I believe ideally you want a blank with at least 500 grams of power for half ounce plus. Not sure what this blanks exact measurements are though.

True. I was a little worried with a 3/8oz weight plus trailer. I wont know until spring.

Thanks guys! doesn't look like they really have a true Heavy(less that 7'11") in the X-ray line yet, Looking into the MB739(IM) for frog purposes.

Just get a Point Blank. Problem solved. I'm eagerly awaiting my X Ray so I can see how it compares to my PBs.

PB731MHXF I would assume would best meet my needs? Or do I need to go with the PB731HXF? With the NFC pricing, it's almost double the price of the NFC rods... Guess thats my holdup. I have been wanting to try one though.
