Scrimless NFC

When production rods are not enough, it's time to go custom. Come share your experiences building and/or ordering a custom rod and tell us if you'll ever go back to off the shelf.

I still have not received mine. Just sent them an email today, although I would not expect to hear back until Tuesday at the earliest. I really don't mind waiting as was not going to build until winter, but would like more communication.

They have 1 CS person and get about 300 emails and 200 calls a day. I was mad at first but they are trying like hell to keep up. I've been patient.

It took them over three months to finish my grips.

I ordered a pair of MB-736 blanks on Aug 14th. Hopefully I get them before Thanksgiving.

What techniques and lure size you plan on using them for?

I'm not sure. I'm a novice when it comes to fishing for SM and LM bass.

I've fished with MB 736-1 couple months now. Best rod i've ever tried. Easily.
We don't have bass here in Finland, but i'm using it mostly with jigs/plastics for zander and perch. Sensitivity compared to power is astonishing. Friend of mine tested it one weekend and he said he doesnt want to return rod anymore! It felt so good.

My blanks are still sitting waiting to be built... I ordered a couple NFC carbon fiber grips almost two months ago and still waiting...

I'll probably end up ordering some CFX grips from mudhole just so I can get these going.

I ordered grips and waited over three months without ever receiving quality products. They sent me a partial order but they were junk. My 9year old builds better grips than what I received from them... they were out of round, bored off center and the carbon was not completely bonded to the core. Love their blanks, HATE their grips

Use CFX if you need good quality carbon grips. Edge/NFC Carbontex is crap.

I ended up with 2 X-Ray: MB 7109 and SJ736. 3 IM: 461-1 (for BFS) and 1 HM 668-1.
