As far as I know all blanks are on sale. Anyone know the shipping cost?

Varies on location, but expect to pay what you would for shipping any other rod. 20 - 25 dollars. You can stick a hell of a lot of blanks in one shipping tube though.

I e-mailed nfc. They said to put the blank/blanks in the cart and proceed to checkout and the site will calculate the shipping and discount. I tried it, and was able to see the shipping and prices for various blanks.

I'm looking at their flipping rods and I can't find information about differences between model numbers - hm, sm, and im... what does it mean? Has anyone used these flipping rods and what's recommended? I normally use a 7'3 heavy fast AG Villain. I just started building rods so I'm not sure how to choose based on specs. Thamks

HM means high modulus like a glx IM intermediate modulus like a imx SM standard modulus. I'd go with the hm for that price. as for which flipping stick to get just go with the lure weight your gonna use. Still can't decide what to get myself.

Thanks, Kravetz. There is also a blank they call "delta", not sure what that is but it's cheap. I found that I could click the model number and pull up more descriptive info and a chart for the taper. I did find a 7'3" mag heavy, which is what I was wanting.

Those are NFCs new budget blanks I believe

I bought 5 of the Delta series after speaking with Steve and then the CEO Alex.

I was told that the Delta series in the MB line is made of the exact same material as the IM. In fact, the Delta is simply an IM blank, wrapped with "flat" cellophane, and not sanded. The IM blank uses a different cellophane wrap during the "baking" process, then it is machine stripped of the cellophane and hand sanded. The details I was given were a 20% increase in durability with a 3-5% weight increase over the IM. Now, other models are mixed modulus, but Alex confirmed the following and perhaps other MBs are made of entirely IM material. In fact, I was told you could sand the Delta blank yourself and end up with essentially an IM.

I purchased the MB692, MB703, MB705, MB724, MB795 all for a whopping $244 shipped! That is > $50 per blank.

I asked Alex about the MB795 as it has no IM or HM counterpart. I was told it a mix between an SJ and MB blank. Thinking it will make an awesome frog rod.

Here's some more info I found on the website about the Delta blanks:

These blanks have "flat ridges' which feel comfortable in the hand but add additional strength and impact resistance. Far as I know it's the second time for 50% off sale and I remember being pissed off when I didn't get in on the first one. While I'm at it, which blank do you guys think would be good for a bfs rod. I'm leaning toward getting another dropshot blank but am thinking of something shorter.

MB662 HM has roughly 270 grams of power. An ERN right around 15. Little lighter than my K2 683ml which has about 320 grams of power, closer to the MB663.
