CRB Mudhole IM6 blanks
Anybody build in these? Their specs seems decent enough, though I'm not too keen on painted rods. I'm considering building one up for fun, maybe a top water stick?
Re: CRB Mudhole IM6 blanks
If they are the same blanks they used to be they are garbage. Thin walls that break easy and the "fast" action rating is nowhere even close to accurate. Now maybe they have changed as I don't see the grey blank color on there anymore.

Re: CRB Mudhole IM6 blanks
I built my first rod on one. Like said above, junk. I got a 6' light/fast that ended up being a light/slow. Couldnt handle anything in its upper range (rates for like 1/2oz on a,light rod, shoulda been a clue) and couldnt cast its lower range either. It was a good practice blank.

OK, yeah, after my initial post I looked at the specs a little closer and noticed what they call a light power was rated 1/4 - 3/4 oz.

Also pay attention to the tip sizes and butt diameters.

If you are looking for an affordable blank from mudhole, check out the Matrix blanks:

I have caught a ton of fish on my MH 7' mod-fast crankbait stick. Light, decently balanced, forgiving action. They go on sale a lot.

Dunno about quality yet. Seems decent for five year old guy.

You will have to resize them. Something like 640 x 480 message board size. You can still see the photos you posted by clicking on them and opening them.MardukFIN wrote:Shite, it was so big.. How to fit picture to one page?

Re: CRB Mudhole IM6 blanks
I built one up on the 6'6" blank that's says it's rated for 1/2- 1 1/2 oz. fast action medium powered blank. I use it to throw 1/16oz jig head with a 3"grub with a small split shot above it for white bass. Ratings are definitely way off, but it does a decent job for what I'm using it for.
