I need a custom builder for an EVA grip
I need a custom builder for an EVA grip
Im needing a couple of EVA rear full grips tapered to resemble the Megabass X4 rods.
I know these have some extra components to the butt cap, but i am just wanting to flare it out to a standard butt cap. Nothing fancy but want a thinner rear grip.
Is there anyone who may be willing to do a couple of these quickly?

You waited all of 25 minutes before you,...................... never mind.
Easy to do but not me.

It was actually 1 day and 25 minutes but still. Patience.
I'd hit up Mattman. He's always posting pictures on here so look him up. Best builder on this site and one of the best around so if it's a job he has time for you are set.

I have been watching videos online wanting to make my own non-split EVA grips. EVA is easily shaped on a lathe in a matter of minutes. Going from a piece of round grip, you could try a drill and dowel set-up. I saw a corded drill lathe for $30. I dont think you would even need tools if you start with a round piece. Just sand it to your liking.

EVA sands easily with paper alone. I use a Stanley SurForm tool when going from block EVA down to a round. When I'm within a few thousandths of my target diameter, its sandpaper alone.RMCatchNrelease wrote: I dont think you would even need tools if you start with a round piece. Mattman can do the job and will exceed your expectations.
Like all good things, you have to wait. I can't speak for him, but 'quickly' is probably not an option.

Re: I need a custom builder for an EVA grip
EVA is very easy and accommodating to shape. I'm currently trying out some handle designs. Trying to make my own JDM inspired foregrips so I don't have to pay Matagi prices. I have some carbon fiber tubing but it's being a little uncooperative At any rate, here are a couple handles to show the EVA foam shapes. It does help to mount it on a drill or lathe, like folks have suggested. But if you don't mind the time and hand/wrist exercise, it can be done by hand.

It is actually very easy to do this yourself. We sell tools for you to do it if your going to turn a bunch of cork and eva, but not needed for a few custom pieces.
Re: I need a custom builder for an EVA grip
EVA is one of the easier things to customize. Another reason to build with them.

Plus EVA is more plentiful than cork. Save a tree
