Lamiglas XMG LC 862
Lamiglas XMG LC 862
I just picked up a couple of these blanks and will have a custom built for lighter plastics/jigs/weightless/shakey heads. My understanding is that this is the same blank that the Lami EXC 722 was built on?
Anyone have any experience with this blank?
TIA.

You are correct, the EXC722 is built on the LC862 blank.

I was told the same thing on another site.

Thanks gents...and you Matt, specifically!
Anyone ever compare this blank vs the MBR 842 GLX? I hope if fishes with about the same power, but that it loads a little faster into the backbone...the 7'2" will be a nice addition to the 7'0" length of the 842 GLX.

You may want to call Josh at Lamiglas, Josh is their designer now sense Todd left a couple of years ago. Also remember the number/model change might be because of the new graphites they are now using.

Right on.
Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
dragon,
My blanks arrived this a.m. ....I think you'll be pleased. Just by a quick visual inspection and a very non scientific bend test, the LC862 is slightly faster action and gets into the backbone quicker than the LSJ862, which is expected.
My thoughts...me likey

Thanks Matt...do you also notice any more power in the backbone?RGMatt wrote:dragon,

Yes the LC does look to have more overal power than the LSJ. I didn't have much time this past wkemd to give them a good testing and I'm away all week for work. Hopefully I'll have time this sunday
Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
The LC862 is more powerful than the LSJ862...can confirm that. Feels like 1.5 "powers" more powerful than the LSJ862 ...whatever that is worth.
Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
I am really looking forward to this blank...I have hopes that it will be the 7'2" MBR 842 GLX that I have been looking for...and a slightly faster taper is okay as I the rod I will have built is for 1/4oz - 5/16oz + trailer finesse jigs and 1/8oz - 1/4oz t-rigs and shakey heads.Tokugawa wrote:The LC862 is more powerful than the LSJ862...can confirm that. I think this blank will pair very well with a Pixy Type R and some finesse braid! Can't wait until next spring!
Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
I'd say that's a pretty fair assessmentTokugawa wrote:The LC862 is more powerful than the LSJ862...can confirm that. Feels like 1.5 "powers" more powerful than the LSJ862 ...whatever that is worth.
I'm thinking mines gonna get a tuned fuego that's been looking for a rod to call home Now do I go with a TDZ 100 spool or the zillion PE spool!
Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
That will be a very flexible combo for lots of techs.
Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
Mine is getting a TD-Z ito
