TSR862S-S
I just picked up a TSR901S-2 for mini jigs and drifting salmon eggs and I was looking at the TSR862S-2 for small jerkbaits and spinners. Does anybody have any experience with the TSR862S-2? What’s your thoughts on the rod and how does it compare with the TSR802S-2?
Re: TSR862S-S
I have the TSR792S and the TSR791S GLX (both 1 piece rods) and find them both extremely proficient at small plugs and spinners. I do feel a bit more sensitivity with the GLX. I also have a Tenryu Rayz RZ682LML rod and it is surprisingly a much better performing rod than the G Loomis models. Don’t get me wrong the Loomis rods are outstanding, but the Japanese designed and made Tenryu rods are just in a different league.Bay_Bassin86 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 4:21 pmI just picked up a TSR901S-2 for mini jigs and drifting salmon eggs and I was looking at the TSR862S-2 for small jerkbaits and spinners. I had a TSR862-2 GLX and it was a pretty amazing rod. Super sensitive, and yet powerful enough to use for large trout and even summer steelhead. I ended up selling it this spring as I hadn't touched it in over a year in favor of the fly rods, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a fantastic rod if you're in the market for one.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I picked up the TSR862-2 as for reels go would a Vanquish C2500SHG be too much for the rod or should I step down to the C2000SHG? I’ll be running 8lbs braid to leader

Either would work I think it's a personal preference thing, but I'd probably get the larger one for balance.
