Recommend a rod to go with my Aldebaran BFS

How small is your rod and how light is your line? It's not about the size of your tackle, but how you work it. Come share your Ultralight and Bait Finesse System (BFS) fishing success here!

Just picked up an Aldebaran, and now I need a rod to you throw 1/16 Hard baits. What do you recommend?

Apparently your first post here? Welcome.

A few thread down, there's one titled "Smith Be Sticky Trout"

You can probably start there. I don't own a BFS or anything baitcasting - and I know 1/100th of the guys on this forum. But I'll say thatwhat to recommend depends in part on what you are aiming for and what type of environment you are fishing in. Short precision casts for small streams? Long max distance cast for open waters? Budget? etc. The more parameters you have, the more likely you will get relevant suggestions from the pros here. I have learned SO much from these guys/gals. (Presumably there are some gals on this forum?)

Thanks for the replay ultralight.

Please recommend a rod for both stream and long distance. Also rods for casting micro cranks and mini jigs .

You want a bass rod or a trout rod?
This is the way.

Nice rod, and good choice for the Adebaran, but I doubt you could tell the difference between the Cardiff NX and the Trout One NS, which should be about $50 less expensive.

Never had the Shimano Cardiff but have had a trout one and it was a nice rod. For bass and trout I think the one listed below might serve you better, should have a little more backbone for fighting bass.

I don't have this exact model, but I have the same version in the MS-X line and I can tell you that rod will fish both panfish and bass. It will cast a Rapala Original floater very well, but also set a wacky jighead or crappie jig hook with ease. It has enough tip to keep them pinned and enough backbone to actually fight a bass.

Have you tried the UL version? I want something to throw mini jigs down to 1/32.

Is that 1/32oz total weight or, 1/32oz head plus plastic? Makes a huge difference at thise weights with BFS.

I found the rod will play a big factor too. Practice makes perfect
