Most of the ones I ordered are 3.5grams

Good man, way to step up! I think they might cost me money regardless of your success with them, they look awesome.

What are you using to store your small and tiny trout spoons in? I feel like having them banging assigns in a normal tackle tray isn't ideal... Ideas and suggestions welcome, thanks!

3.5, 3.8, 4.2 and 8 grams

I'm gonna use snaps so I removed the split ring.

I use Evergreen E.G. Wide snaps.

For Jerkbaits I use the Decoy V snaps.

I have an Altoids tin that I glued a small piece of closed cell foam into, it works great to store small inline spinners and other tiny hard baits.

Have any of you tried japan style trout spoons from aliexpress? When I look at the spoons on aliexpress, many of them look like the JP brand ones.
I plan on trying some in 2.5-5 g (mostly 3.5) this summer for sea run browns.

I guess that spinners, minnows, and jerkbaits are more difficult to copy than spoons due to the many elements where quality materials and connections are needed. A spoon is “just” a slab of metal - split rings and hooks can be changed.

I've bought blade baits from Alie - the hardware was crap (no surprise there) and the finish wasn't as durable as I'd hoped but the action was fine. After removing the stock hardware I applied a coat of Sally Hansen "Hard As Nails" clear acrylic nail polish to them before installing good hardware ... clear epoxy is another option also. I use them in some of my pike infested waters where the chance of loss is greater. As long as the action is good I'm fine with doing this, I'll save my better baits for other lakes.

Good advice
Where I live, a lot of trout are caught on unpainted spoons from various Danish brands. The unpainted spoons are cheaper and seem to catch just as well as the painted ones - depending on the situation I guess. Still, I like the color options...
