Question about these little spoons: do you tie directly to them or use a snap? If tying directly, which knot do you prefer to use?

The Lupin has a split ring to tie to, the Vega doesn't. I'd consider adding a split ring personally, the #2.5 and #3 Sunline is very small in diameter, .004" and .005" too small for me to see to tie with aging eyes unless I'm using magnification.

The 1.8 g Lupins are proving to be an excellent choice in my case. I tried them out on my Daiwa Presso AGS 54 XUL-S with the 1025 Presso reel. With 3 lb Sunline Area Meister, I really have to pay attention to keep them out of trees across smallish streams. At the local lake they outcast everything else I've used, even the JH-85 Cultiva 1.7 g jig. Amazing, considering the rod is rated to 2.5 g. I thought they might overload it slightly but not at all.

They are actually priced pretty dang good too.

I prefer tying very light line to the single diameter of a snap vs the double diameter of a split ring, just a confidence thing for me as I feel the knot is less prone to failure. Anyhow, these Decoy snaps are available in small enough sizes that would work well on those small spoons.

The Little Cleo is available in 1/16 oz and Dardevil has a 1/32 and 1/16 Skeeter and Lil Devle. There may be others but I'm not familiar with them. Nothing in the US can match the colors, weights, and shapes of the JDM micro spoons. Also, many of the JDM spoons are already equipped with barbless hooks.
