Vintage UL Baitcaster

I bought this Shimano Bantam 100 in the 1980s to use primarily with 4 and 6 lb test mono and to pair it with a medium-light 6 foot Phenix rod for fishing with live crawdads for bass in our clear deep Southern California lakes. It is the only bait casting reel that I have spooled 4 lb test mono onto and not have a problem with the line getting stuck between reel's spool and body. The drag is vey smooth too, which really helps when using the very light line and sizable bass. Love this little reel that could cast small un-weighted crawfish out fairly far. I still use it occasionally with small jigs, spoons and hard baits.

I have two of those myself. Awesome reels, and beautiful rose wood handles. 8-)
Have been hunting for the matching rod for years...
