Nothing better than catching nice gills. I consider myself a bass fisherman first but gills are so much fun.

Great fish there gill chaser! I like your choice of tackle too! I am super fortunate to be within a 30 minute drive to a fantastic trophy Bluegill lake here in southern California, Lake Perris. The "average" Bluegill here is about 8 to 9 inches, with many fish going to 10, 11 and even a few that reach 12 inches! I know of two fish that were over 3 pounds. These are Florida coppernose Bluegill that were introduced into the lake in the late 1970s.
