New trout rod for my father.

Post by Isaiah20 » Wed Oct 19, 2016 10:58 pm

I am looking for a rod for my father. He wants a 6'6" to 7" rod for trout in the 130-150$$ range. He was thinking St Croix Premeir but I know that rod is to soft for his liking. I was thinking 6'9" Fenwick RR Light power. Any other options?

If he is wanting a faster action rod compared to standard trout rods, the RR would be a good bet. You could also find a host of good Major Craft offerings in that length and price range.....Corzza's, Volkey's and Benkei's come to mind.

i know this is probably too late & you've already got a trout rod for your Dad, but.....

i think a Daiwa Presso 7' is hard to beat! 2-piece or 4-piece. Both are great rods for the money.

by the way, what did you end up getting?
