ZZZZZZZZZ ....

Post by uljersey » Mon May 30, 2016 8:39 am

.... That's the sound my drag made today when these bull 'gills took off with my bait

What a blast. It never gets old catching them. They truly are the criminally insane of the underwater world. If they grew beyond five pounds, there wouldn't be anything left in the lake. Here's a couple of them ...

Very nice! Is that the Cabela's Sweet Pea you're using there?

Nice 'gills.. I have been catching the heck out of panfish lately... some spots on the Juniata seem to have hoards of them.

Yes. That bait got the attention of some crappie and yellow perch as well.

Big gills are fun.

BTW, I tried to put my ss700 on a st. croix legend elite 7-0 lf. The reel foot is too short and it doesn't fit.

I did not need another reel for my ultralight, but it may have to go there instead if it fits on an Avid ultralight.

That exact issue is addressed on page 1 of this thread -

Very odd...my SS 700's fit on all my rods, to include St Croix Avids and Premiers and a number of different Daiwa rods.

I also thought that a standard reel foot and seat size had been agreed to by the industry.

Is it a matter of a different type of reel seat...as the Fenwick Elite Techs have? Looks like the Legend Elite might a somewhat similar seat design.
