Some serious UL action from NJ..

Post by Ranger 619VS » Sat Apr 26, 2014 1:37 pm

Hello Boy's,

Been fishing up a storm the last two weeks here in NJ. The crappie moved into their prespawn locations and I have been killing them on soft plastics.....Berkley Power grubs and Ripple Shads, Brewer Slider grubs and shads, and my new favorite the 2" grubster from Lunker City.....Usual ul combos from G. Loomis and Daiwa JDM. I have had 4 crappie over 2lbs, heaps of 1.75lb fish and a ridiculous amount of 1.5lb fish. The biggest surprise of the vacation was a 5.5lb Large Mouth Bass that decided to crush a Charlie Brewer slider shad. I was fishing for crappie tight against a dock / bulkhead corner when she hit. Combo was a G. Loomis TJR782-2 paired with a Daiwa JDM Luvias 1003. Coolest part was my 11 yr old daughter was out with me and saw the entire fight and netted the Bass for me. Still have 5 days left to fish..........Hope you enjoy the pictures of some of the better crappie and the nice bass...

v3n0m,

I thought so too but my boga grip is pretty accurate...Here is a 4lb Pickerel that I caught yesterday also on UL. I thought a 6lb fish for sure. Looked and fought huge!.....

No kidding!

That looks like a diverse and amazing fishery!

I can't wait until my daughters are old enough to take them fishing. :D

Nice work man!

Yes, fish density is very unique...I have caught three LM from 19" - 21.5" this spring...they varied from barely over 3lbs to 6.25. And the 6.25 "looked" heavier! :-k The "densest" bass I have caught came out of the coldest water, in the smallest body of water I have fished thus far...weird for sure.
