Some ultra light Perch action NJ 2-18-12

How small is your rod and how light is your line? It's not about the size of your tackle, but how you work it. Come share your Ultralight and Bait Finesse System (BFS) fishing success here!

Some ultra light Perch action NJ 2-18-12

Post by Ranger 619VS » Mon Feb 20, 2012 1:19 pm

Hey Guy's,

Noel and I hit the water in search of perch and pickerel. We found the fish intially then had to search around for them.....We did find them again. Final tally was 28 yellow perch for me and 17 perch and a pickerel for Noel. We caught them on power grubs, slider grubs and ripple shads. I used a pair of G. Loomis SR781-1 ultra light rods and a SR782-2 light action rod. All three rods had Daiwa JDM Certate 1003 reels. Noel used a mix of G. Loomis TSR and SR series ultra light rods and a mix of Certate 1003 and 1500 reels. This mild winter has been great for us. I have not had a winter with so much decent open water fishing.....hope it continues for 3 more week till the other lakes start to turn on. pictures attached.

Glad to see you're getting to fish! We've had the screwiest 12 months of weather I can remember here so I'm behind the "power curve" on my crappie. Record drought last summer and now one of the wettest winters on record. We've had like 6" of rain in the last 3 weeks which is great for lake levels but has every lake I fish muddier and colder than h*ll....

Welcome to Tackle Tour! I would like to hear more about your ultralight fishing in Europe. What type of combos do you fish with? I am also curious about the lures and techniques you use.
