Hello everyone!
Totally new to the kayak world..we just picked up a couple Tarpon 100's from the outdoor shop I work at part time.



For my first question...What does everyone like for pfd's? I'm thinking something minimalist to not interfere with paddling and fishing.

Congrats on the new kayaks. With high back seats, I would recommend an Astral V-Eight. It has a high back that works well for me with the seat back on my Hobie Outback

Is an inflatable jacket allowed where you are? No back on most, just a couple of straps.

Yes, and while I have considered using an inflatable because of comfort I haven't gotten around to trying one. Certainly a viable option and the best PFD is the one that you will actually use.

I've been looking around and I think I'm leaning towards the NRS Ninja for it's compact size. For now we are rocking the standard orange boat vest.

Got them installed and will test this weekend

NRS Chinook is super comfortable and has a high back that won’t interfere with the seat at all. Good front storage for tools as well.
