Re: Ocean Kayak Big Game II
Thanks guys for the yak compliments, Im digging the color scheme too....don't know how much it's really "camo'ed" since its base color is orange lol, but it's different, and ought to be visible by those in larger craft. Can't wait to get this tank on the water! But, gotta first slap on all the aftermarket goodies.Dont think I'll need to do any hull drilling at all, the mounting plates are awesome- this sucker is laid out. Off to hook1 site to start browsing mounts and such!

Thanks again fellas!
Re: Ocean Kayak Big Game II
Enjoyed your videos. I just ordered a BG2 last night and am looking forward to getting it out on the water. I've been fishing out of the Trident 13 and Trident 15, but as I am getting older, stability is becoming more important to me than speed. All my paddles are 230 and I'm wondering if I should order longer shafts or can I get by with the 230?keng8554 wrote:I have this boat and love it.
Pros - super stable, easy to stand and fish, Mounting plates make mods easy and remove stress of ruining your boat, tons of storage
Cons - feels sluggish at times

I have a 230 and it works. However I think a 240 would have been better especially with the sear in the high position.
Thanks for checking out my videos! Glad you enjoyed them.

Got my new Angler Ace, and a couple of Cannon rod holder for the modpod hatch cover...while it looks like Scotty is meant to fit, nope....it's made for the Cannons...they can be switched to my of a number of different holes, no drilling needed

Looking good. I think every few paddles you'll think of something you could change or add! It's never ending lol.

Re: Ocean Kayak Big Game II
True that Kenji, still a few small things I plan to do with what I have- need to rivet a good paddle clip on there, have a rail ram ball mount I plan to use with my gopro and the crate, when I find the right median attachment to give me the height and positions I want....thinking too, about finding some sort of seat cover, to prevent ever sun or dirt discoloration, don't want to have to replace the seat any time soon...kinda still debating in my mind if I should put some sort of anchor system on it....may drill and mount a couple more rod holders, after I see how much accessory plate space is used by the stand up bar.....yeah. I guess it may very well be never ending. But, hey...rigging is part of the fun of getting a new boat I reckon.
As an aside, you been getting into em lately? I'm pretty sure I saw you in town one day, hauling that big azz BG2 on top of a sedan not much bigger than the boat...where you usually launching out of, Star City on the Mon? Was up that way doing some shore fishing on the old reservoir at Whites Park about a week ago, water was cold and fish were sluggish, but managed a 3lb. Largemouth...wish the damn rain would stop for long enough to hit my main river spot, but I guess it's stil early in the season anyway...only managed to get out twice yet myself. That will hopefully become a bit more frequent, I need some fresh walleye fillets
