I have a pro angler 14 and fishing the bay. I usually bring 3 combos (Shimano reel size): a 1000 for jigging, a 3000 fishing bridge/pylons, and a 10000 just in case there are something really big (tarpon, big snook, cobia... etc.) comes around.

I usually bring a spinning and casting rod. Hope to get a rod holder installed for the year to have 3.

My friend uses a crate with pvc pipeabout 10 inches long. In action, he'll leave two lines out, one on each side of crate, paddling home he'll stack 6 rods in the crate. He's comfortable with 4 because he wants backups available in case of anything. Each setup has a different jig/lure ready for action

I have a milk crate in my tank well and I attached a 3 rod holder to it so I put 3 in there and a 4th with me between my legs or in the front rod holder.

I've carried as many as 4 and regretted having that much gear with me. Now I try to pick the 2 rods that will cover most of the techniques I expect to throw on a given outing.

I take 3, all casting usually. Sometimes 2 casting and 1 spinning.

I try to keep it simple. I take one casting and one spinning rod normally.

I have three rods with me most times but my son is using the spinning rod. He gets bored after a while and I can add that to the rotation
If I need to. I run a medium xfast casting and mhf casting in the back. Covers what I need so I am good with 3. Rotate out other selections
If I feel I want to.

3 usually, sometimes 4. Depends on the lake I'm on.

Depends on location for me as well. Inshore flats, I take 3(jig, jerkbait, topwater), in the marsh I take 5(jig, jerkbait, topwater, crankbait, spinnerbait). At the lake I can take up to 7(2 chatterbait, 2 crankbait, punch, frog, jig/trig) but it depends on time of year. All rods are stored horizontally when on the water so I can go under docks and overhanging trees, and don't have to worry about hitting one on the cast while standup fishing.

if overhanging trees will be an issue i take 3 rods. on scotty holders at an angle, 1 in the front and two behind. if its an open area i will take up to five. usually 3 verticle and two in the scotty holders. 4 is a good compromise IMO.

what rods i bring depends on the body of water and what i feel like using.

Depends on the conditions, but I usually take three for the inevitable break off or wind knot issue. I always want to have a backup rod rigged the same as my first rod so that I can quickly go after the fish that are there. I fish for redfish at night near cover in most cases, if they wrap me up, I get broken off. If they're there, and I'm there, I often don't have much time on the bite, so I try to make the most of it.

I try and limit it to three rods for freshwater- top/jerkbait, trap/small crank/spinner bait, and bottom contact. Different rods for each depending on time of year and location

For inshore, I try to keep it to two- one ML and one Med spinning.

As said above, less is more and though I could carry 2-3 rods more, I find that I'll spend more time changing out rods than I want to.

Two or three, and I do the same when I’m in my little stick steer Tracker. I just decide what I’m going to throw and pick out the right rods for the job.

Lakes and rivers is 3. One is frogs, one is jigs and t rigs and one is chatterbaits.

In the flats I carry 2. A medium light casting trout rod and a medium light spinning rod.
