First Tournament Ever

Post by stevenhatchy » Thu Feb 25, 2016 8:08 am

Fishing in my first tournament this weekend and I want to hear the advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time and talk to yourself before your first tournament. Help me avoid some of the newb pitfalls!

Been an angler for literally decades, never entered a tournament nor do I ever intend to. But, same principles apply. Going by my imagination of the competitive nature involved, and assuming you've got all your gear including backups ready to roll, my only advice would be to not panic. Some of my best moments have been when I pause for a deep breath and real cool like take my time to ponder the underwater surrounding, focused and precise, equals fish on. Good luck.
