New Bass Fishing Teams/Sponsors/Contracts
Re: New Bass Fishing Teams/Sponsors/Contracts
It seems that when MB released their pro's that Martens was not named as one of them. Seems more and more likely that they are not together.
I also saw that Bryan Thrift has picked up Damiki (since Chevy pulled sponsorship from the FLW) as his primary sponsor and is now sponsored by Fitzgerld rods (since Damiki stopped production of their rods to further their bait manufacturing.

We can confirm A.Mart is no longer with Megabass. We cannot, however, reveal who his new rod company is - yet.JWR075 wrote:It seems that when MB released their pro's that Martens was not named as one of them. Seems more and more likely that they are not together.
Yup, this happened over the Winter, but Strike King picked up Cody Meyer who left Jackall/Shimano. Cody is now also with Daiwa.JBcrankaddict wrote:Read the other day Zaldain has quit Strike King and will now fish Megabass hardbaits and softbaits in addition to using MB rods.

MEGABASS AND AARON MARTENS PART WAYS AFTER 17 YEARS
Megabass gives thanks to a pillar of their US efforts
January 28, 2015
Megabass of America, the US arm of Japan’s foremost innovator of premium fishing tackle, confirmed today that after 17 years, Megabass’ title sponsorship of Aaron Martens is ending.
“While we are of course disappointed that our professional relationship will not continue in 2015, we certainly understand Aaron’s decision to pursue a new business opportunity,” said Yuskei Murayama, Vice President of Megabass of America. “Aaron is one of the most gifted anglers of his time, and it is no surprise to us that a fledgling brand would invest heavily in his services.”
Partnered with Megabass since his early days on the West Coast circuits, Martens has quickly risen to the top of the national stage. With two Bassmaster AOY titles, three U.S. Open Championships, and multiple victories to his name, Aaron has solidified himself as one of the most consistent, talented, and feared anglers on Tour.
“In many ways, we would not be where we are today without Aaron,” said Murayama, “so we wish to take this opportunity to give thanks for the whole-hearted dedication, passion, and expertise Aaron has shared with us these past 17 years. Megabass is certainly better for it, and will continue to strive to make the kind of equipment that elevates our anglers to ever-greater success. We wish Aaron the best in this next chapter of his career.”

Cody Meyer leaves Shimano/Jackall, zaldain goes all in at megabass. Looks like Shimano has an opening and extra $ to make the investment. Unless martens starts his own thing or buys a share of another.

The fledgling brand comment is the only thing that throws me off Shimano. Unless Jackall can be considered separately.

can you tell us if it a JDM or USDM company?Cal wrote:It's not Shimano/Jackall, Edge, or 13 Fishing...
Re: New Bass Fishing Teams/Sponsors/Contracts
13 would have been a good fit for both. In rod development a pro like AM could be worth Millions and for AM it could have allowed for more direct product I out while forming another long lasting relationship.Cal wrote:It's not Shimano/Jackall, Edge, or 13 Fishing...

Oh, I was thinking the North Fork Composites. I didn't what was going on with them. If they had expanded to higher line rods.JWR075 wrote:I thought edge was the new Loomis company.Johnny A wrote:The new Loomis company maybe?
