ZMAN plastics

Anyone know how long zman stuff can be in a tackle box with other plastics before they start to melt everything? I use them when wading creeks and keep a small waterproof box in my pocket and would like to keep them stored loosely in there for 4-6 hours at a time. Thanks

short term MAY be okay. but when you forget there IS gonna be a mess. like trying to keep the cueball from scratching on a DEAD scratch. it's going to happen. just grab a sandwich baggie for them. i tried to do the wagging finger smiley emoji! soft plastics and hardbaits are risky. zman softbaits are risky with other baits. maybe do a 3 hour test in a baggie with zman and another worm together? tell you what i put a zman trd(the deal), a GYBC senko(red shad), a white zoom fluke, and a big bite cane thumper in a baggie at 855 pm. i'll check it in a couple of hours.

It will melt the finish on some hard baits, too.

I would just keep them in the original bag and then in you pocket.

after 2 1/2 hours there is nothing happening. no blob, no color transfer, nada. going to leave it overnight.

There are small ZMan proof tackle boxes available. Lets you keep ZMan and other plastics in the same box and separated from each other.

after 11 1/2 hours in a sandwich baggie, there are still no signs of any meltdown. no stickiness. no color bleed that i can tell. i am going to leave the bag intact for the rest of a full day, then check it tonight. and with this i hit 100 posts!

Those Moncross boxes are proof that ZMans aren't kryptonite to all plastics... Plano and Versus boxes taco badly... Other soft plastics - may as well be a congealed bouncy ball once they've touched in time.
But...
They still melt and stick to each other in the heat... And those boxes are super fragile - have cracked two so far and had them replaced only to be told they won't be replaced in the future due to "negligence"...
This will be my last foray with Z Man's or Moncross tbh...

My flambeau boxes with the zrust dividers hold up well to them, my vudu shrimp dont like to be near them though.

Just keep them in their original bags, keep them separate from regular plastisol baits, and you'll be fine.

after about 2 1/2 days the zman baits is starting to stick to the baggie, feeling a bit greasy. still no color bleed or any problem with other baits at all. TRD does feel a bit greasy/slick.
