Looking for good 2" pre-rigged swimbaits
Looking for good 2" pre-rigged swimbaits
I like to use small swim baits here in the creeks and ponds. I really like to use about 1/8" (Usually 2") pre rigger baits. I do this as i normally dont keep a lot of tackle in my car, so i can just put a few of these in my pocket and go.
I have tried every brand, berkley, storm, BPS brand, Cabela's brand. Sometimes they are OK, but others they track way off. Like i will cast, and the bait tracks so hard to one side it will be 10' to my side when it reaches me.
Are there any other ones, or any other recommendations? I know i should just use a jig head and baits, but i like the simplicity.
I did see this on Tackleware house, may give it a shot

I have Storm paddle tails often and I've found they run true. Every now and then you'll get one out of the box that needs a little tweaking but usually they seem to perform very well. They are also pretty cheap and the quality is very good for the price. Just my two cents...

the 3" storms work great, the smaller ones i have issues with. How do you tune them to run strait?

Yeah they always have pretty good deals for these. They'll never have popular or new items but for the oldies you can't beat they're pricing.
You have to make sure your retrieve isnt too fast. otherwise they will come in sideways. I run mine on 8lb test and just sloooow reel them in with pauses in between. when I have them come in sideways or running at an angle it either means I rigged them off center or the eye needs to be bent in the opposite direction. Hope that helps.

Charlie Brewer makes a couple of very good bodies, so does Mister twister. Maybe not pre rigged though, but that might be the problem, they might be rigged not perfectly straight.

I had problems with the storm sunfish baits runniing on their side until i started inserting a piece of tungsten nail weight in the belly. Might be worth a try if you have that problem with your swimbaits

If you want a great 3" try to get Megabass Spark Shads. Great producer in my opinion...

Hi everyone. I got an idea here, I'll pick the Megabass Spark Shads. Seems quite enough for this coming weekend.

I've caught a lot of fish off of northlands mimic minnows. They seem to love the UV clown tiger color.
