Jackall crosstail shad (purple smoke and baby bass)
Megabass hazedong shad 3"
Yum killshot
These were my top producers this year. The jackall crosstail shad is the undisputed champion though - amazing dropshot bait and totally worth the cost.

Re: What is your best drop shot lure?
no one mentioned the yamamoto shad shaped worm?
Re: What is your best drop shot lure?
Have been watching this tread with great interest since I don't reall drop shot. Waters here are kind of muddy
Just today we opened the Bonnet Carre Spilway flood control to divert the Mississippi. Next week we open the Morganza Spillway to divert even more. Most waters around me will rise and muddy up quick.
Last night I ordered around 8 different lures that you guys mentioned along with some hooks and weights. Going to put all the drop shot stuff in a different soft tackle bag. Put a new Shimano Twinpower on an Aaron Marten Megabass Rod and will wait about 3 weeks for water to go down.
Any tips for shallow muddy water? Deepest bayou here is 20 feet and will fish some drop offs near flats where bayou turns.

For muddy water, I like a finesse type worm wacky rigged on a drop shot. It seems to call them in better than a shad shape bait. I have caught fish on a drop shot with water clarity less than 1 foot.Silas wrote:Have been watching this tread with great interest since I don't reall drop shot. Waters here are kind of muddy

Re: What is your best drop shot lure?
Crosstail Shad
Roboworm
I drop shot a lot here in the PNW. From super clear water to 2ft or less visibility the Roboworm just flat slays. 4.5", morning dawn, lightest weight possible. The Crosstail Shad is excellent in clear water in m experience, especially on pressured fish.

Roboworm, I try to use other baits but I always go back. I need to try some of these other suggestions.

Re: What is your best drop shot lure?
Silas, only that if your water is muddy, use a very dark colored plastic. Black might do as well as any other. It will be the most visible to the fish. These clear water alternatives used won't show up as well for your. BradSilas wrote:Have been watching this tread with great interest since I don't reall drop shot. Waters here are kind of muddy
