wacky hook
What is the best hook for wacky rigging a 5 inch senko?
Re: wacky hook
The "best" for me has been the Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Hook. I use a size 1.

Re: wacky hook
I like the Owner Weedless. It does OK at being weedless, the best weedless I've found though other than making your own with piano wire.

Gamukatsu wicked wacky in 1/0
Re: wacky hook
I like circle hooks when I wacky rig. Owner inline circle is the one I use in 1/0.

Re: wacky hook
Green owner wacky rig hooks are what i have settled on 1/0 usually.
I think rod has as much to do with it as the hook, i missed a lot of fish with many different hooks until i went to a good whippy ML spinning rod. I use a bigger hook with a casting rod.

Re: wacky hook
I really like this profile of hook for wacky rigs: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Falcon_L ... FWKWH.html
The Kahle style hook is perfect with wacky rigs as I rarely (never) deep-hook the fish, and once they've got the bait in their mouth, I rarely (never) miss a hookset.
I don't use the Falcon ones - I use Mustad Weedless Wacky hooks, but they're basically the exact same thing. 95% of the time, I use the unweighted 1/0 size.

Re: wacky hook
I like the 2/0 Gamakatsu octopus hook, a friend used it and I was amazed at how well it hooked fish, my friend didn't lose a single fish that day, so now that is the hook I use and it works just as well for me.
