worms and lizards... ??

It all started with the plastic worm and has now mutated into a huge array of specialized offerings. Whose is the best and which one is your favorite? Come share your thoughts and opinions here.

worms and lizards... ??

Post by 78Staff » Thu Mar 03, 2011 3:16 pm

So does no-one use plain of worms or lizards anymore? Seems like every fishing or highlight show I watch lately the creature baits are all the rage....Fat Tubes, Hogs, Zippers, Wompers, Flompers, etc. What about a good old Culprit 7" ribbon tail worm or lizard... or am I just an old fuddy-duddy who needs to go plastics shopping?

Lizards still work for me, and I'm an old fuddy-duddy. Ok, every once in a while I will tie on a "Baby brush haug". There I said it. Can I still keep my "Old fuddy-duddy" card?

I am a young fuddy-duddy who used 6" Zoom SS U-tail worms texas rigged while on vacation to catch 75+ bass in a 1 1/2 week span :D I prefer to use worms and lizards when I am casting and dragging a texas rig on the bottem. When I am flipping and pitching a texas rig, that is when I use creature baits.

I started out using lizzards and worms, but now I'm ashamed to say that brush hogs have replaced my
lizzards and I rarely use worms anymore.

Same here. I just can't seem to get myself to reach for any plastic other than a brush hog.

I still texas rig worms of all sizes. They catch fish in every lake at any season. They really shine for me in the summer when nothing else seems to be working.

I still regularly use the good ole 7" Berkley Power worm but Brush Hogs have taken over for the lizards even though I still carry them.

Same here. Those things have produced year after year for me, and I can't see myself ever giving up on them. Especially during the high pressure summer months.

I still use 10 inch worms and do use some 7 inch worms. Lizards haven't worked were I fished for a couple of years now or at least I haven't caught anything on them maybe its just me .

The Brush Hog has just about replaced the Lizard for me. I still tie on a lizard for a few cast then go back to what works.

The Worm will always be on the deck somewhere. Never getting rid that sucker.
