Swimming Fluke vs Swim Senko

Post by BB144 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 1:04 am

I did pretty went on a t-rigged swim senko this past summer rigged with one of my homemade "punch skirts"

How does the Swimming Fluke compare in action to the Swim Senko? The tails seem to be similar in design, and the Flukes are cheaper and will probably last long. Anybody use both and can compare the two?

Last summer Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper became my absolute favorite new paddle tail bait. Not expensive and one day I caught 10 fish on one bait.

They are very similar. Of course you pay more for quality.

Swimming fluke is much more durable, but being much softer, I believe the swim senko has better action.

X2 - Love both. And like the durability both offer over Senkos.

Hmmm. I bought several bags of swimming flukes when they first came out. Loved them but found that they tore very easily near the bend of the hook. Skinny dippers and big ez (and ez swimmer) all lasted longer and seemed to attract bigger bites. Did Zoom change the recipe of the plastic used on the swimming fluke? I like the action of the bait.

Thanks for the all the input, it looks like I'm going to have to try some Swimming Flukes.

I found I could increase the life of my Swim Senkos with a 5/0 Owner Twistlock hook over an EWG. I could get half a dozen fish out of one bait instead of 1-2. I'm sure this will work just as well on the Swimming Fluke.

Nice tip on the hook selection for Senkos. Ill have to give that a try. Id def use more senkos if I wasnt putting a new one on after every fish caught!

I prefer the swimming senko. Great action and i think its just much more versatile. I use them as swim jig, spinner-bait and chatter bait trailers. This way i carry less baits and still have all presentations covered. I use glue to keep them together and get the most life.
Great tip on the twist lock hook. =D>

As stated there are trade offs with both. But why not own both? Senkos lack durability due to the high salt content but have great color options, zoom lacks salt content and colors but are very durable. I dont see any reason to not use either other than the price of the senkos
new day the same way

I prefer the swim senko, especially on the new Owner weighted twistlock light hooks.
