Wacky hook size for 5" Senko?

Haven't fished a senko wacky rigged since I first started using them 15+ years ago and we just used regular ewg worm hooks back then. Now every technique has a fancy hook. What size are you all using for your wacky rigged 5" senkos? 1/0 seems about right?

1/0 is what I like also. The Gamakatsu G Finesse Weedless Wacky hook with the titanium weedguard is the most durable, if you need a weedguard. I got tired of waiting for Owner's version, and tried the Gamakatsu with success.

I use a size 1# if the fish get picky. It seems to help or it could just be the slower fall rate. Im not sure.

(see picture)..Here is another option for you to consider, especially if your fishing in vegetation or heavier cover. I find this method much more weedless than the weedless prongs. I fish this style set up with a nail weight (neko rig). The hook in the senko is a 2/0, but a 1/0 will work and is pictured for comparision in size. If your not fishing cover and your using a o-ring a Size 1 is fine, especially with this style wide gap.

I like a 1/0 - 2/0 finesse wide gap or mosquito hook. A hard sweep hookset tends to work better for me too,

I use the Decoy version of that hook and really like it. Awful plastic life but very weedless and great hookup rations.

I've been using the VMC Neko hooks in 1/0 or Gamakatsu B10 S. They have a longer shank, and it's increased my hook up ratio.
