What's the difference between; Keitech Model 1 and 2 jigs ?

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

What's the difference between The Keitech Model 2 Football and Keitech Tungsten Casting Model 1 jigs ?

Thanks in advance

Head shape, weed guard, and hook, it seems Keitech makes a traditional football jig with light wire hook and thin weed guard. The casting jig has a tear drop shape and uses a heavier hook and heavier weed guard.

Thanks for the advice. A total newbie question but when do you go with smaller hooks / weed guards ?

Same thing for football shape vs tear drop. What's the benefit of each ?

Join to original question.
Please give some examples of using both jigs.

I found those football Keitech are good for open water clear lakes.
Easily get snagged in any type of cover.

Ha ha. I just noticed those football jigs get snagged up easily as I threw one tonight. With a weedy floor, what are you better off using ?

I only use Footballs for rocky/sandy bottom or very deep water.

There are finesse football jigs around but football jigs are primarily 1/2oz and heavier and normally have a light wire hook and light weed guard because they are used to fish deep, hard bottom areas. There are football heads made with heavy hooks and weed guard for places with hard bottom where you have stump fields or are close to cover that you need a stout hook to move big fish away from it quickly. The tear drop shape is a weight forward design, jigs with that shape are good for bottom probing too but instead of being dragged like a football head, these are usually hopped along the bottom, they are also good for dropping in cover and they are a little more versatile than a football head as they are decent when fished in grass, a place that isn't too good for a football head.
