Ledge baits advice

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

Ledge baits advice

Post by btune » Fri Jul 03, 2015 4:14 am

Working on my ledge bait boxes and need to fill some "big bait" holes. Got worms, cranks, football jigs and even big shaky heads etc. Need opinion on best heads (3/4 and 1 oz.) for swim baits, both solid (Big Hammer) and hollow body (Basstrix) in 6-7 inch size. Also 1 ounce sized spinnerbaits with double blades. I am in middle TN and fish both Percy Priest and Old Hickory mostly. One a high land the other river run lake but usually in 20' or so of water.

I would add a larger minnow colored hair jig for snapping off the bottom

Thanks Nitro. Your recommends are very close to my thoughts on deep fishing!
I have: Cumberland Pro hair jigs
Just got 3/4 and 1 ounce Chatterbaits
Lots of Zoom 10" worms (Plum Apple my favorite), both Texas rigged and on a big shaky head
I Drop shot a lot!
The duo G87 looks nice but I have a "number" of deep divers! I was not familiar with the ignite baits but they look interesting. I got my Tackle Warehouse 4th of July order in and it included - 1 ounce spinnerbaits and swimbait heads. The Davis scrounger heads were on backorder but were on my list!
With all our recent rain I am afraid the Ledge bite will be off for a week or so?
