Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

I throw a couple different types, for a swim bait style i like the 3.5" trigger X slop hopper because it is compact, don't need to trim it, has the right colors for all my swim jigs (black, gill pattern and shad) and the best part is it doesn't have a deep slit in it like most swim baits do so you can actually thread it into the meat.

I like zoom speed craw as well and in real clean water i like a 5" kailyns grub.

I just acquired some have some RI Skinny Dippers. They seem a little large and heavy.

Do you cut them off any?

I trim mine RIGHT behind the "eye" of the bait. I'm guessing it's about 3/8".

Thanks...behind the "eye"??? I'm going to take a second look at mine to look for the eye.

why do you use such a bulky trailer?

Is the jig 3/8 or what?

I use them because they work. ;) The size helps me feel exactly what the bait is doing at all times.

I use the Skinny Dipper on 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2 oz. swim jigs. However, I don't trim them on the 1/2 oz. swim jigs.

Majority of the time I have some sort of paddle tail swimbait around a 3.5 inch size. The keitech swing impact fat 3.8 is my go to. I also use a paca craw if I want a craw style or a Yamamoto twin tail grub.

Strike King Rage Menace Grub.

The way the twin tails kick, I can't help but play the Jaws theme in my head every time I retrieve it.
