Favorite Spinnerbait

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

I make my own. Solid brass beads , never hollow or plastic. 60-80lb Lazer Sharp swivels. Shrink tubed wire ends and twists.

Go to youtube and look up my channel, same as my screen name. I have a video showing how to make a lock bend loop for a spinnerbait swivel, this will eliminate the need for shrink tubing on your bait. I do like your design but on anything under 3/4oz there is simply too much weight on the blade shaft which kills vibration.

The reason I shrink tube every end I can is to prevent snags. I like your desing too, but the Hagen's machine I use makes bends and wraps in no time flat and it looks very professional. I used to use the round nose pliars also, but the Hagen is hard to beat.
I don't make any spinnerbaits less than .7 oz ( the small minority) and up. Up to about 5 oz.

Thanks.
I have not sold any I have made. I've given a bunch out to a bunch of the guys I fish with though for testing over the last couple of years . Before the spinnerbaits I usually made and used in-line spinners. But then I found big spinnerbaits realy do well in our weeds here ( just about the only structure on our chain) , so of late I have been doing as many spinnerbaits as spinners.

War Eagle finesse 5/16 in sunperch. Have a rod and reel dedicated to this spinnerbait.

For years I had at least 1 spinnerbait tied on at all times... now I go weeks or more without having one tied one. Back in the day I loved the Nichols Pulsators with metal flake blades, particularly the 3/8oz with double size 4 willows from later spring thru early Fall. In the cooler months it was a 3/8oz Terminator with colorado/oklahoma blade.... When I have success on the river these days with a spinnerbait, its typically a 3/8 or 1/2 flat rubber skirt spinnerbait with either colorado/indiana or single indiana blades... either humdinger or Mr. Hooty

I don't recall seeing anyone mention Rick Clunn's spinnerbaits. Any observations?

Clunn would be, arguably, one of the greatest current users and experts on a lure that has fallen away a bit over the last several decades it seems. That, and he learned how to use them from a couple of guys who were considered the best-ever with them, one of whom used spinnerbaits almost exclusively regardless of the season, water conditions, etc. Pretty cool.

Clunn is, inarguably, one of the top bass anglers of all time. I doubt anyone would rank him below top 3.

1/4 oz custom blue/white spinnerbait, made by a friend from Arkansas. Double hammered willow blades with a 3.8 swing impact.

I like it because it fooled this slob, 9-14 and 27" long! Sorry the pic is upside down-I took it in haste and had my phone tilted wrong, in an effort to get her back in the water quickly.

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
