Thoughts on Strike King Tour Grade Rage Blade Swim Jig-

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

Thoughts on Strike King Tour Grade Rage Blade Swim Jig-

Post by mike304 » Sun Apr 06, 2014 9:16 pm

Does anyone have any experience with this bait? I have had a fair amount of success fishing bladed jigs in the past couple of years and am always trying something new. Just wondering if these live up to the claims of less hang ups, better hookups, and ability to bounce off cover better than regular bladed jigs.
Making a trip to Cabelas next week and want to know if they are worth trying. Unfortunately all my lakes are still covered with 18 inches or more of ice! :crying:

Most chatterbaits will fish the same. I fish the Elite chatterbait by ZMan. They put a better hook (gami =D> ) on it which made a world of different and it has a bait keeper. I fish them through trees grass and whatever else is in the water and you will occasionally hang up but its not to often. To me the right rod is important. Something a little more parabolic.

I picked a couple up today they look good gammy hook, bluegill color is really nice. Haven't fished it yet but seems like it should come thru cover better then most chatterbaits. The free swinging head is sort of like a biffle hard head.

My local Walmart had some in stock, and I could not resist. Picked up a couple, they are different for sure. Seem well built, time will tell.

I did not like mine.. The quality seemed better than your average strike king bait, but it did not run nearly as well as even the z man original chatterbaits. I could not slow roll mine at all. It would just veer off to one side like a crankbait that is way off tune. Might've gotten a lemon but who knows.

I threw one this past weekend and can attest that they hang-up in cover less than others. I did however have 3 fish throw the bait as they got close to the boat. This is definitely more lost fish than normal for me while using bladed jigs.

After some more time throwing the Rage Blade it's become apparent that they don't run as deep as Z-Man's or Pure Poisons. I can only assume that this is why I snagged less grass/cover during use.

I have a couple, I dont know if I rigged or tied it on wrong but it seems to lift like crazy in the water. Maybe I am not fishing them right.
