Black Weapon jigs
Black Weapon jigs
Anybody remember Black Weapon jigs? Gary Klein was associated with them. Hooks from England.
What made me think of them was losing a jig fish at the boat a couple weeks ago.
Powerful, strong hook with good gauge. Pierced/punctured without tearing the fish's mouth.
I've been using O.S.P. for the past few years but I'm considering a change.

Just went to that link and if they ever do a Gary Klein biography they have to have Owen Wilson play that role, they look like twins at that age.capt1fish wrote:Yep, out of Oroville CA.

Yeah, I'm well aware!
Re: Black Weapon jigs
Are these jigs still available?
Re: Black Weapon jigs
I think the black weapons have been discontinued for 10 years or so. The last time I was able to source the was through specialtytackle.com. I got to talking to one of the guys while placing an order and he gave me a phone number of a tackle store in Northern Cal, Oregon or Washington State.dragon1 wrote:Are these jigs still available?
It may be possible the guy who did them with Klein could be making them under a new name. The hooks were made in England. One hook was made for the jigs, the other for plastics. That's just by my memory.
Re: Black Weapon jigs
Kool Johnny...for now, I still prefer jigs from a couple of custom makers.
Re: Black Weapon jigs
Something I found on tackleunderground on the subject. Mustad bought out the company that made the hook, which became the ultrapoint. It's the internet so it must be true.dragon1 wrote:Kool Johnny...for now, I still prefer jigs from a couple of custom makers.

Re: Black Weapon jigs
I'll be waiting on the 1/2 oz blacks. Proper alignment of the line tie is the deal maker. Silicon and living rubber! Summer and spring, fall, winter. Bee-you-tee-full!

^Youre waiting for then to be in stock?
If you read the description, it said once they're gone, they're gone so I'm assuming that is all they have and will not be getting more.
