Favorite Jigs and Colors
Just trying to build some content back up .. this is always a good topic.
I use all kinds of jigs really. I like finesse jigs, football and the slightly pointy kind with a flat head(not sure what that one is)
Brands .. I like the BPS Finesse, good little jig. Buckeye Mop and Strike Kings(mostly cuz I get em on sale) .. I like a little rubber in the skirt with the more colorful silicone mixed in.
Colors .. Green with some orange mixed in or just Green Pumpkin and Black/Blue.
Trailers .. Paca Chunks and Rage Craws.
Love me some jig fishin ..

Re: Favorite Jigs and Colors
I custom pour and paint my own jigs so I don't buy any. Jig style would be Snootie. Poison Tail, Grass Jig ad football. Colors would be brown, brown/org, black, black/candy blue, black/candy purple, green pumpkin and finally 2 new colors I came up with was pumpkinseed and bluegill. Skirts custom made to match. I prefer round silicone rubber over flat silicone. Trailers would be rage tail as well. I'll post some pics soon of the pumpkinseed and blugill colors.

I am a big Eakins finesse jig fan, but I also really like NorthStar Baits jigs as well.
For colors I use black and blue, green pumpkin and watermelon with matching trailers.
Swim jigs are my favorite, KVD swim jigs are my favorites but I got some NorthStars to try out this year.

Re: Favorite Jigs and Colors
Im pretty addicted to jig fishing also and lean towards black and blue and any shade of green pumpkin. I also have to recommend northstar baits. The jigs are second to none.
Re: Favorite Jigs and Colors
black and blue and green pumpkin, I am not really married to one brand.
Re: Favorite Jigs and Colors
I have made my own Jigs for 20 years, but if I buy a Jig already made its a Ganns Jig they are the best Jigs around( except for mine )

I am far from an expert, but I like Skinny Bear.
As far as colors, it's hard to beat black and blue, but I like brown and purple also.

Re: Favorite Jigs and Colors
For a long time the eakins 5/16 and 7/16oz finnesse jigs have been a staple in my box. I like the flat rubber ones with copper wire tied skirts. I also like to use starflash skirts with them.
The last 5 or 6 months I have been fishing Omega jigs. I started with their baby j and promega structure and flipping jigs and have been VERY impressed. The promega jig is a staple for me now in deep water and the 1oz promega is one of the best grass jigs I've ever used. I am going to be fishing their swim jigs more this year and their 1/2oz flipping jigs.
I tie my own skirts. I am partial to brown flat rubber; brown with purple/green pumpkin; sunfish patterns; and I throw some black/red or black/blue from time to time. I like white in the fall. If I could only have one, it would be flat brown rubber tied with some brown/orange/copper starflash and a beaver on the end.
Trailers I like brush hogs, baby brush hogs, beavers, paca chunks, skinny dippers, pork and senkos.

Among the colors I mentioned above. These two colors (top)pumpkinseed and (bottom) bluegill work phenomenally for me in late Spring in our clear water lakes.

I like the TNT Wadda and Bobby D's arky jigs in black/blue, brown. I want to get the new Mike's Craw color Bobby D's.
Mike's Craw color
For football jigs I like the Berserk and some customs. The Purple Hornet color Berserk jig is nice. TNT is coming out with a football jig soon, which I hope to try.
