Wire for jig bands

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

Wire for jig bands

Post by Gone Phishin » Sat Feb 26, 2011 9:21 pm

I am looking for wire to tie around the collars of my jigs that originally came with rubber bands. Any suggestions? Thanks. 8-)

You can get this wire for tying your jigs at almost any hardware store.

Get the 22 Ga. size in either coated or uncoated. Not Copper.

Braid works even better, I use 65 lb Power Pro. I like it because it absorbs the super glue, that I put on knot.

22 Ga works fine like Dale said. You can also get it at Hobby Lobby.

UTC wire in medium or large, the best, and get a cheap fly tying bobbin without an insert, works like a charm ;)

Very cool, thanks. 8-) I have to place an order to one of those places anyways for some ferrule lube.

I presently have a lot of free time; I'll give all options a shot, and see what works best for me.

Do you then dab a little glue on your knot, as previously mentioned?
