Powerpro 8lb 1lb mono diameter

Post by gyro » Mon Apr 24, 2006 7:51 pm

HI,

I was wondering if anyone has tried using 8lb PP (1lb mono diameter
). I've used 15lb PP (4lb mono diameter) before without any problems but I've never used anything at 1lb mono diameter.

I had some 10lb/2lb and liked it but after one use I took it off and went back to mono/ Floro and like that much better. IM just not a fan of braid anymore. :?

I like it for crappie jigs and small trout spinners. Be careful, it will slice you like a razor.

I realy only use braid for vertical jigging walleyes in the heavy current of the river, its no stretch helps for hook ups at when you might be fishing 20' to 40' deep and it keeps the bow out of your line that happens between rod and jig with flor. and mono, due to that flow of the river.

I use Power Pro 10lb a lot (we can't get 8lb in Sweden). I have only positive things to say about it...
I mainly use it when I'm fishing for "Red-fin". When I fish for Trout I normally use mono since it absorbs the jerks of the fish better...
