I heard that the recent CITGO Bassmaster Classic champion Mike Iaconelli won the tournament using a Daiwa Capricorn 2500 with finesse worms just minutes before the tournament ended. And the final moments were all televised. My friend said that he read it in Bassin' magazine or InFisherman mag. Anyone read this article and know where I can find it?
It's definitely another good endorsement for the Capricorn.

Thanks Reno .
Iaconelli switched to his Capricorn during the final minutes to catch his final bass which brought him over the top.

Re: Bassmaster Classic won with Capricorn2500
Now that the winner for the Bassmaster classic won catching
his last fish on the Capricorn, it's going to get more fame.
So Cabelas and St. Croix, who uses a tweaked version of
the original must also be excited that they went with
the Daiwa and slapped their name on the modified version.
Is Iaconelli sponsored by Daiwa PRIOR to the classic?
I am sure he is now if he wasn't.
If he was, maybe he knew he had the winning bag limit
already, so he was doing his sponsor a favor of using
the set up to catch his last bass of the day.

Re: Bassmaster Classic won with Capricorn2500
The article says that his last bass caught on the Capricorn actually won the tournament for him. That's what made it exciting. Iaconelli actually gives a lot of credit to using spinning tackle for finesse techniques and following up on missed hookups. The article actually has a pic of the tackle he used and focuses on the Capricorn 2500.
