I know that to some, cleaning your fishing tackle is bad luck. Kinda like washing your socks before the state title game. But for those that do clean their fishing tackle, I thought I'd pass on a few products that I feel work really well.

Reno,

Thanks for the great tips. Your tips and replies have been really
helpful on this forum.
I'll be cleaning my rods and reels and re-organizing my tackle
boxes/lures when the rainy season arrives.

Yeah, thanks for the tips, Reno. :D

What do you do to fill in holes in your cork handles?

Gyro,
Try grinding up some cork and mixing it with yellow carpenters glue(elmers). Put some glue in the pit and then add the glue/cork mix. Let dry ,sand and smooth. You can use a file to grind the cork.

Thanks bundy. Is it necessary to waterproof it afterward? Could I use carpenter's waterproof wood filler?

Gyro,
The yellow glue is pretty moisture resistant. I've never used any of the plastic wood fillers but it's probably worth a try.
