I think fishing tackle is designed to catch people. I get caught over and over so I guess catch and release works!

Praznik,

I believe trout, along with many other species, are line shy. I believe fluorocarbon, along with circle hooks, came from the saltwater fisheries industry.

To me, I think if the fish see the line, especially in
species like trout, salmon, stripers, and other "sight" feeders,
you will not get as many hits.
Bass on the other hand is probably not as important unless
you're finess fishing. They don't want to see a plastic
worm with a string/line attached to it moving with the plastic.
Reaction baits might be different and might not matter
because it's a react hit, they don't have that time to think.
