I'm with you! Why do we have to wait until '04? I'm going to try and attend the San Francisco Fred Hall show in January. They should have the new energy spinning reel there along with their other new products for '04.

Unfortunately, Tackle Tour's coverage of the 2003 ICAST show in L.V. did not include any new offerings from Daiwa.

Hi Reno,

Unfortunately Daiwa didn't go to the ICAST show in 2003 or 2004. If they had gone to the show they would have definately been one of our main stops.

If you go to http://www.quantumfishing.com and look at their product guide, you will see some of the new things they're offering in 2004. For example, the new 2004 baitcasting PT X-Metal reel. This reel looks Sweeeeeet !

Check it out !

Ranger Dude,

I wonder what the 2004 PT X Metal baitcasting reel is going to weigh. I hope it will be less than 10½ ounces, but I doubt it.

The design does look clean. I wish that they would have used the scratch resistant vacuum deposition coating on the entire reel

Is the coating on the PT series' old reels corrosion resistant? Have you guys had any trouble with dust and crap sticking to the coating?
