K&E Bass Stoppers

Post by quantum angler nt » Tue Jul 01, 2003 5:06 pm

Has anyone tried K&E Bass Stoppers? I have a friend who really likes them. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

I checked out some of their products. Which ones are you talking about?
I have never used them, but I am not into buying pre-rigged worms especially with so many hooks on them. It seems like a hassle to
getting the hooks off the fish, it can get messed up easily and hard to
place the hooks back, etc.
I dont know. Why does your friend like them?

I'm talking about the K&E prerigged worms. Last time my friend and i fished he let me try one out and i did end up pulling in a bass. Actually, I think I like the idea of a prerigged worm because this type is durable and has the potential of lasting through 20-25 bass! It is made of a hard rubbery material and is anise scented. My friend calls it a K&E Bass Stopper.

I see. If it sounds that good, I think I will
go out and pick up some.

Cool, go get some they are pretty inexpensive. I thought I would tell you how my friend fishes the. He fishes them wieghtless with a snap-swivel to reduce line twist. You can try adding light amounts of wieght like a 1/16-1/8 bullet wieghts or split-shot. Get the magnums for bass (the other ones are too small for any serious bass fishing unless you really want to finesse them). Fish them especially i shallow water situations 3-6 ft. of water. I can't promise they will work, but man I had a mama bass slam it!

Looks like you would swim these worms instead of
crawling them on the bottom since they aren't
rigged weedless. The multiple hooks would easily
snag. Line twists? Uhhh, not something I would
normally get with worms. What's up with that?

Yah you swim it through the water at slow speeds. If you like the traditional way to fish worms (crawling them along the bottom) try the weedless version. Line twist come into play very rarely, but when it does it's annoying. The leader gets twisted and it eventually twists your line. I like the swivel approach to avoid any problems.
