Ditto, for my area…and including steelhead, salmon, bass, walleye…

A good lure can give you some edge under certain conditions, assuming you are at the right spot, at the right time and presenting it right. However, give that same “magic” lure to the newbie, and 9 out of 10 times he will catch zero fish. My point is – location, presentation and timing will make you successful even if you have “average” lure at the end of your line.

That being said, I still have my favorites like ITO 110, Storm Thunderstick Junior, Yo-Zuri L-minnow, Daiwa Dartist and very important – the thinnest line I can get away with…

Behold......I fought a Baldean Montroth in the farthest depths of Dromdor until I smote his ruin upon the fiery Lake of Smith. As my reward, the Elven princess Tith'cara reached her hand into the fiery Smithian waters and retrieved unto me this lure (it was either that, or her pointy-eared sister.....egh.....I went for the Wiggle Wart).

In the Fall on Lake Leon, I usually tear them up with a 2" Storm Wild Eye Shad in perch.
